Last December 24, 2007, I tried sending UNLITXT20 to 2870 for the unlimited SMS until December 25, 2007. To my surprise, the message fails. I called the Globe hotline and I was informed that there’s a problem with that service and it will be back within the day. But I tried sending to 2870 until 12am of December 25, 2007. Still no luck.
Now, it’s already December 31, 2007 and I’m trying to register again for the unlimited SMS. Still no luck. Globe even blocked that number as you can see that sending message to 2870 fails right away.
All I can say is that Globe deliberately removed the unlimited SMS during the holidays. This is a malicious act from them instead of helping people nationwide to cut down their cost to send greetings to their family, friends and relatives in the spirit of Christmas and New Year.
I think Globe should consider giving back at least 50% worth of load spent during December 24-25, 2007 and December 31-January 1, 2007 to show that the they’re sorry for the service interruptions that they didn’t intentionally did it for that sake to make much more money while everyone are force to spend their hard earned money just to send their greetings instead of buying foods to celebrate.

Today, I just found out that the PLDT WeRoam 3G Service is just P1,500 per month now. I think this is a very good offer from PLDT. Think about the SmartBro, a non-mobile wireless for your home @ P999 a month or the PLDT DSL @ P999 a month too both at the speed of 384kbps. With additional P500 a month, you’ll get a max speed of 1.6mbps of unlimited mobile internet access anywhere in the Philippines. In addition, you’ll also get unlimited wireless access through airborne access.

Last night, I was trying to open the Windows Vista’s Sidebar to check a cool gadget. Unfortunately, after trying to open it several times by clicking on the icon in the Start menu, it won’t open. I tried rebooting my computer but still no luck. I’ve searched in the internet for solutions. I tried so many solutions until I found the solution below that worked for me. I’m pretty that there are people out there who encountered this problem too which sometimes results to reinstallation of Windows Vista.
Step by step to make the Windows Vista Sidebar open again:
1. Click “Command Prompt” found under “Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories”.
2. Type “cd \Program Files\Windows Sidebar” in the Prompt then press enter.
3. Type “regsvr32 -u sbdrop.dll” in the Command Prompt then press enter.
4. Type “regsvr32 -u wlsrvc.dll” in the Command Prompt then press enter.
5. Type “regsvr32 atl.dll” in the Command Prompt then press enter.
6. Type “regsvr32 sbdrop.dll” in the Command Prompt then press enter.
7. Type “regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll” in the Command Prompt then press enter.
8. Try to open Windows Vista Sidebar again.
I hope this solution helps people who are encountering the same problem.

Yesterday, my colleague got an email proposal from Eastern Telecoms. He showed the email proposal to me and I was shocked right away. It’s the most inexpensive DSL (internet) for any business and it doesn’t need a landline. I also heard from others that they didn’t got hit by the Taiwan earthquake disaster that crippled other internet providers.
Below i the package we got from them:
1,024 kbps (1.0 mbps) Upload and Download speed - P2,200.00 per month
1,536 kbps (1.5 mbps) Upload and Download speed - P2,500.00 per month
2,048 kbps (2.0mbps) Upload and Download speed - P2,900.00 per month
Can you imgine those prices? In PLDT, 2.0 mbps is @ P8,000.00 per month plus P1,500.00 landline. In Globe, 2.0mbps is @ P3,495.00 per month with free landline.
Although, it’s would be the most inexpensive if you don’t need a landline. But if you’re looking for the package with landline, Globe would be your best bet. You can view my preview post regarding Globe’s DSL with free Landline Packages.
