Hi there! I posted on Xsellize but thought I would do the same here as well. First off, thank you very much for your work. I have been using your V1 5Row keyboard and think it is great! I just downloaded your V2 and though I think having a landscape optimized keyboard is a wonderful idea, I still like having the numbers on the top row. Any plans to make a V3 layout with the numbers on the top row?
1. I removed the period in portrait mode since you can easily double tap space to do it. The number keys has the period if you really need it.
2. Hold down the comma button for other keys that are not frequently used but sometimes are needed.
3. Hold down Q button if you want to use TAB feature.
4. Hold down the @ sign to automate hotmail.com, yahoo.com and gmail.com
5. hold down letter m to produce cm. km. m. mm.
As you can see the layout has specific function for my lifestyle so feel free to modify it.
Changed few keys to reduce memory usage by 4-6mb. It seems ikeyex will eat a lot of additional memory loading special characters. I know this is nothing for iPhone 3GS, but for those people with 3G, 6mb is heaven.
Erik- I tried out your 5 row V2L keyboard and really like it. One thing I would like to change is to have the $ key more easily accessible. I went into ikeyex and tried to modify but was not given the option. Is there another way to modify your keyboard?
@Tommy
so you want to put $ in the comma hold function?
open variants.plist and replace everything inside using the one I pasted in pastie http://www.pastie.org/734999
this will give you $ if you hold down comma.
If you’re using iPhone 2g or 3g i suggest you use the latest keyboard build. It’s a lot faster and saves you memory.

Hi Tommy, V1 keyboard has 5 rows in landscape. The problem with 5 rows in landscape is it lacks vertical spacing to be accurate.

@Tommy, if you want to change the keys, you can easily do it by editing my v2 keyboard since I optimized and made it easier to understand than v1.

I forgot to add, it would be great to add $ to the comma hold down function.
